Tara E. Adas

Hello, my name is Tara Adas.  I began my dance adventure at the age of 2 years old. For the past 29 years, I have either performed as a volunteer, competitor, entertainer, supporter, or professional.

For the first 6 years I studied under the direction of Molly Johnson in Biloxi, MS. From the age of 12 to 18, I furthered my studies from Nancy Ward at Nancy’s School of Dance in D’ Iberville, MS. Here is where I began my highly competitive dance instruction. I won many awards as a soloist and large group competitor. I was named a Dance Caravan Kid and a Stars of Tomorrow Winner. During this competitive dance instruction time, I cheered for my Jr. high and High School where I represented the squad as head cheerleader my freshman and Senior Year. I am a two time UCA All-Star Cheerleader.

After high school, I attending the University of Southern Mississippi and received my BSBA in Business Management and minor in Dance. I performed for the Golden Eagles as a Dixie Darling and a Southern Miss. While in college, I choreographed many dances for sorority and fraternity events.

At the age of 21 my biggest dream became an opportunity to become a reality. I received a phone call to audition for the largest dance production agency in the United States, Greg Thompson Productions, in my hometown Biloxi, MS. It was a successful audition. I then became a Dixie Cup Dancer for two shows Dixie Jubilee and Christmas Time in Dixie. Both shows performed at the Palace Casino in Biloxi.

At that point, it was time to put the shoes on the shelf as a performer and become an instructor. My husband and I moved to Jackson, MS, where we took a 7 student cheerleading gym to a nationally awarding winning cheer zone with 750 students.

Wanting to get closer to home, we decided to place ourselves here in Mobile, AL. We have become very fond of Mobile. It is a beautiful place to live and raise children. Remember those performing shoes I placed on the shelf, well I decided to get them down and dust them off. Here, I was again performing as a Mobile Wizard Cheerleader.

After 8 years of living here, again an opportunity arose. I was approached to buy a dance studio. With great consideration, I knew once again my dream was becoming a reality. So, here I am; the artistic director and owner of Encore Dance Center. With my education, experience, and creativity, I know that you will be fully satisfied.
